Director/DP Victor Ridaura Signs With Quriosity

MAY 23

DIRECTOR/DP VICTOR RIDAURA is the latest member of our creative super group. VICTOR RIDAURA is an LA based Stylized Visual Storyteller, whose main focus is on lifestyle campaigns. VICTOR RIDAURA was born in Caracas, Venezuela. That past background created his unique lens and style, which becomes apparent in his work. VICTOR’s fluid use of VFX and his projects made him an asset to the Quriosity roster. VICTOR’s ability to seamlessly switch languages is a skill that is perfect for both the English and Spanish language advertising culture. He also holds two Masters degrees; one from NYU in film directing and the other from USC’s Peter Stark Producing Program. Victor reminds us that “

We steal moments from real life and put them to picture, all filtered through our own particular eyes. Sharing pictures and telling stories that move people, stories that mean something, stories that transport an audience, that’s what I love. That’s why I do this.”

“My favorite spot of his is “The Children Miracle Network Hospitals” commercial. It is very powerful visually, because of its subtle shots that evoke so much emotion. It’s his use of extra b- roll and the thought process that goes further than just shooting the talent in the vignettes. He creates a tasteful mood like capturing the child with the crayon or the women slowly falling into the screen, resulting in a very natural feel. The camera’s loose as it follows the talent. It doesn’t feel staged it’s organic, almost as if the cameras are off, ultimately creating an environment where the talent can be captured freely. To me that’s directing, that’s a natural use of storytelling that’s so hard to find nowadays. The cherry on top is the added VFX element of the balloon in the end.” – Qadree Holmes, Quriosity Executive Producer
