Meet QURIOSITY Editor Curtis Schmidt

AUG 26 2014

Like a good aspiring editor, Milwaukee native, Curtis Schmidt spent the first decade of his career in Los Angeles, California. There he cut for Crush Editorial and other post houses including Red Car, Prologue and Streetgang Films. Later, during his stint working as a Director of Post in Kansas City, Schmidt became the proud father of two handsome boys and one heart melting bulldog. Anxious to get back into the advertising fast lane Schmidt signed with the country’s most rapidly growing production company, Quriosity Productions.

Schmidt is a post production technology super-geek, famously admitting, “I sit in a dark room and push buttons all day and I absolutely love it.” His passion for his craft translates to his relationships with the agency creatives and directors who share his suite. Schmidt’s positive energy is contagious. It ignites his professional collaborations, resulting in rich final projects and life-long friendships.

Schmidt has an impressive body of work in both the commercial and entertainment industries for clients including: Wendys, Home Depot, Toyota, K-Swiss, Sprint, Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire, COUNTRY Financial, MFA Oil, Busch Gardens, Vectra, BCBG, Major Soccer League, MTV, Gatorade and more. Also music videos for artists including: Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, James Blunt and Strange Music.

Schmidt’s latest project was working alongside Chicago Director, Jonathan Becker to edit MADZILLA for Make-A-Wish Illinois making a young boy’s true wish of starring as Madzilla (very similar to Godzilla but cooler) come true.
